Police investigating serious assault in Staple Hill want to trace this man

POLICE want to trace this man as they investigate a “serious assault” on a man and a woman in Staple Hill High Street.

Officers say the victims “sustained suspected grievous bodily harm-level injuries” during “disorder” outside the Portcullis pub, next to the junction with Soundwell Road, at about 1.35am on May 4.

A police spokesperson said: “Two men – both in their 30s – have been arrested and released on bail while enquiries continue.”

Detectives have identified a man filmed on CCTV that they want to talk to in connection with their investigation.

They say he is white, with brown hair, and at the time of the incident was wearing a grey hooded top and gilet.
