POLICE say they are targeting patrols in the area around Stoke Park after multiple reports about a naked man approaching women.
The most recent incident was reported just after 5pm on Tuesday, when a man in his 60s reported seeing a naked man emerging from the woods near Sir Johns Lane, Purdown.
He said that the man, who was white, aged over 30 and had dark hair and a stubbly beard, ran back into the woods after spotting him.
Four days earlier a woman was approached by a naked man in a nearby field, close to Priory Hospital, Stapleton, at about 1pm.
She said the man was in his 40s or early 50s, with short, greying brown hair and a small beard. He was between 5ft 11 and 6ft 3in tall and “skinny”.
A man fitting the same description had also approached two women in July and September.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers are aware of social media posts suggesting other incidents may have happened but not been reported to police.
“We’d always encourage you to report any such incidents as soon as you feel safe to do so.
“Call 999 if it’s just happened and the suspect could still be in the area, otherwise ring 101.
“If this has happened to you, or if you have any information which could help to identify the man, we’d like to hear from you.”
Anyone who thinks they know who the man is or has been approached can call 101 and quote the incident reference number 5225 293 935 or contact the police online.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or online.
